Strategic book creation, from idea to impact.

High-touch support for nonfiction authors—clarifying the book, shaping the manuscript, guiding publication, and positioning the work so it can move thoughtfully in the world.

Clarify
Defining the real book—its purpose, scope, and structure—before the writing begins.

Create
Shaping the manuscript through interview-led writing or close co-creation, always in your voice.

Publish
Guiding the book into the world through hands-on self-publishing or publication-ready preparation.

Position
Ensuring the book is ready to support the opportunities and impact you want it to have.

Clients enter this work at different stages, from early concept through publication.

Here’s how the work unfolds, whether you’re at the beginning or further along.

Clarify

This phase creates the foundation for everything that follows. We identify the real book—what it’s truly about, who it’s for, your intentions for it, and how it wants to be structured—so the work that comes next is coherent, focused, and aligned. Many clients arrive here with years of thinking already done; this is where that thinking is distilled into a clear, workable form.

Create

The manuscript is shaped through either interview-led creation or close co-creation, depending on how you work best. In some cases, I write the book in your voice; in others, I guide and shape your writing as it emerges. In all cases, the work is collaborative, thoughtful, and attentive to voice, clarity, and momentum.

Publish

Once the manuscript is complete, I support the book’s transition into the world. This may include full self-publishing support—cover design, formatting, and upload—or preparation for traditional or hybrid publication through a submission-ready manuscript and guidance on next steps. The goal is a book that’s finished well, not just finished.

Position

A book doesn’t exist in isolation. This phase focuses on how the book is meant to function beyond publication—supporting speaking, visibility, thought leadership, or the next evolution of your work. We clarify how the book is positioned so it can move intentionally in the world, rather than sitting unused once it’s released.

“Working with Laura is a rare experience.

She brings together competence, integrity, and energy in a way you don’t often find in one person. She thinks structurally, communicates with clarity, and engages the work with genuine enthusiasm and care.

What I value most is her flexibility and humanity. She meets complex, evolving projects with steadiness rather than ego, and encourages momentum without pressure. Laura doesn’t just execute—she elevates the thinking, strengthens the work, and makes the entire process better for everyone involved.

Just as important, she connected with me quickly on a personal level and built real trust early on. For me, that combination—skill, judgment, and human connection—is rare, and it’s exactly what I look for in a collaborator.”

Book Coaching Packages

Your needs and goals may not fit into one of these packages. I work with clients at different stages of the book process, in a variety of ways—including customized coaching and co-creation.

Book Strategy Intensive

A focused, 1:1 working session designed to bring clarity and direction to your book—before you invest months or years writing it.

This is not a coaching call or a brainstorming session. It’s a strategic, hands-on session to define what your book is truly about, who it’s for, and how it wants to be structured.

Includes:

A comprehensive pre-session questionnaire to clarify your goals, ideas, and context

Review of existing ideas, notes, or early writing (if applicable)

A 90-minute strategy session focused on purpose, audience, scope, and structure

Development or refinement of a clear, workable book concept

A strategic, usable outline tailored to your book’s intention

Guidance on pacing, structure, and momentum for drafting

• A personalized roadmap outlining next steps after the session

This session is designed to give you clarity you can use. If we don’t achieve that within the session, I’ll offer an additional session at no extra cost.

Ideal for those in the early stages—or those who have been circling a book idea for a long time and want to move forward with confidence rather than guesswork.

If you choose to continue into a larger book project, this session can be applied toward a coaching or creation engagement.

Manuscript-to-Published Package

For those with a partially finished manuscript who want coaching and guidance to bring it to completion and prepare it for publication.

This package supports writers who have done substantial work already and want editorial clarity, thoughtful refinement, and a clear path forward.

Includes:

Editorial review and feedback on structure, clarity, and content

Strategic guidance to strengthen the manuscript and carry it through to completion with a view to your book’s desired goals and impact

Developmental and line editing to refine voice, flow, and coherence

Preparation of a publication-ready manuscript, with either full self-publishing support or guidance on proposals and next steps toward traditional publishing

This work focuses on finishing the book well—maintaining the intelligence and integrity of the work while bringing it into a form that’s ready to move forward.

Ideal for authors who are close, but want expert eyes, steady support, and clear direction.
An optional ghostwriting add-on is available for those who want more hands-on support.

12 Weeks to Published

A high-touch, collaborative engagement to develop, shape, and prepare a book that reflects the depth of your thinking and is capable of moving meaningfully in the world.

This work is designed for experienced practitioners, founders, and thought leaders who want a book that carries clarity, coherence, and integrity—without needing to manage the process alone.

This is not a templated program or a productivity sprint. It’s a deeply attentive process for complex ideas, requiring discernment, pacing, and skilled editorial guidance.

Includes:

•  Clarification and refinement of the book’s core idea, audience, and intention

•  Strategic book outlining and structural guidance from concept through completion

•  Content creation support through interview-led writing in your voice or close co-creation, depending on how you work best

•  Developmental and line editing to strengthen clarity, flow, and coherence

•  Translation of your existing expertise and/or lived experience into a clear, readable, and well-structured manuscript—without extracting or oversimplifying the work

  • Preparation of a publication-ready manuscript, with either full self-publishing support or guidance on proposals and next steps toward traditional or hybrid publication

  • Ongoing communication and support throughout the engagement to maintain momentum without pressure

This process holds both the intellectual rigor of the work and the human realities of creating it. The goal is not just to finish a book, but to shape one that can function thoughtfully beyond publication—supporting your work, visibility, or next chapter.

Ideal for those who want a serious, well-crafted book and value steadiness, discernment, and partnership in the process.

Long Form Book Development

A fully supported, start-to-finish engagement for substantial book projects.

This is a high-touch, fully held engagement for authors who want to develop a serious, long-form book without carrying the weight of the process themselves.

Designed for complex ideas and extended manuscripts (often 100+ pages), this work centers depth, coherence, and sustained development. You remain meaningfully involved in the thinking, while I take primary responsibility for structure, pacing, integration, and execution across the life of the project.

Includes:

Deep development of the book’s core idea, audience, and structural architecture

Full manuscript creation through ghostwriting or co-writing, based on interviews, conversations, and/or existing material

Comprehensive developmental and line editing to ensure clarity, coherence, and polish throughout the manuscript

Ongoing editorial and strategic guidance to support the integrity and function of the book as it takes shape

Preparation of a publication-ready manuscript, with either full self-publishing support or guidance on proposals and next steps toward traditional or hybrid publication

Consistent communication and support throughout the engagement, so momentum is maintained without pressure

In this container, I hold the majority of the creative and editorial responsibility—allowing the work to unfold with steadiness, discernment, and care. The aim is not speed or output, but a book that is internally sound, well-crafted, and capable of standing on its own.

Ideal for practitioners, thought leaders, and experts who want their book fully stewarded from beginning to end.

Not every project fits neatly into a package.

The options above reflect common ways clients enter this work. In practice, many projects call for a more tailored approach—adjusting scope, pacing, or support based on where you are and what the book itself requires.

If you don’t see yourself reflected exactly in one of the above packages, that doesn’t mean the work isn’t a fit. It simply means we’ll begin with a conversation and shape an engagement that supports both you and your book well.

Zoa Conner, PhD

Proprietress, Zen & Vitality With Zoa, Intentional Vitality Retreats

“Working with Laura to write a book got my newest business expansion off to a great start. I needed to go beyond just talking about my work to potential clients and cold audiences. I was seeking to establish my position and authority in this new arena and to create evergreen assets that would produce long-term results for my business. I started a podcast, but always answered no when business coaches asked about writing a book. A hard no.

Even though I knew it would be a valuable asset for my business, I knew there was no way I had the capability, time, or desire to sit down and write a book myself. Until Laura offered me her Book Creation & Strategy service. I knew immediately that this was the right choice for both me and my business.

Laura’s interview questions drew ideas out of my brain and we linked them together into a cohesive book. Her organizational magic and careful editorial shaping created a book that makes me smile every time I see it or think of it. Now I have an amazing asset and have achieved something I never thought possible – author!”

“For the last six years, Laura has been by my side helping me further cultivate my life’s work and passion. She understands my vision at a deep, heartfelt level and brings it to life with her writing and creative strategy.

Laura has helped me see what the next steps are when it comes to serving more youth and their families, and the results of our connection are directly felt in the work taking place in my program. Her insight, guidance, and enthusiasm have grown my organization’s online presence dramatically and have helped me have a greater impact in my community.”

“It is with great pleasure that I recommend Laura as a book coach. I have recently published my first book, and had no idea how to start or proceed.

As my editor, she provided me with excellent guidance and clarity from the very beginning, making me very confident to face and overcome the adrenaline and challenges that come with a new writer’s experience.

I am already being approached and offered to have physical copies sold in stores. I am very excited to have her help me develop my second book.”

Why Books

I could write an entire book about this… For brevity’s sake, though, a book changes how your work, your lived experience, your desired impact moves in the world — and how you relate to it.

For many of my clients, writing a book isn’t only about visibility or credibility, though those outcomes matter. It’s about distilling years of thinking, experience, practice, and living into something coherent and lasting. Something that can travel beyond you, speak for you, and open conversations you can’t always initiate yourself.

In more ways than one, a book becomes a legacy.

Practically, a book creates opportunities: speaking invitations, deeper professional recognition, access to audiences who might never otherwise encounter your work. It offers a realm of many touchpoints — pages and pages of them — and deeper connection. It gives shape to your thinking and creates a clear way to engage with it.

Just as importantly, the process itself can be deeply transformative. Writing a book requires clarity, discernment, and a willingness to see your work from a wider vantage point. Many clients describe it as a threshold — a moment where their ideas solidify, their voice deepens, and their relationship to their own work and meaning changes.

This is where my energy, my joy for this work lives. It’s why I hold my clients’ trust and belief in such high regard. Whether it’s a book for your business, a legacy waiting to move in the world, or some combination of those, it’s my honor to join with you in the shaping and creation of meaning and impact.
